I was born and raised in Jasper, Indiana. I graduated from Northeast Dubois High School, where I was active in band and softball. I attended Vincennes University in Indiana, CSU, Stanislaus and, CSU, Sacramento where I recieved my A.S., B.S., and California Teaching Credential. I've taught 5th grade in Sacramento, and 3rd and 4th grade here at Brookman.

I enjoy playing softball, frisbee golf, cards, swimming, quilting, camping, nascar, and watching the Indianapolis Colts. One of my favorite places to go is the redwoods in California.

I have one son, Waylon, who was born in August of 2010. My family lives in Southern Indiana and my in-laws live in Central/Northern California so I'm always traveling to see family and friends.

Even though I grew up in Arizona, I have lived in Las Vegas for 18 years. So this feels like home. I am a graduate of UNLV and this is my 16th year teaching. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I have been at Brookman since it opened in 2002. One of my favorite things about teaching is watching children grow in academics and personality over the course of a year. I value reading immensely. Being a confident reader allows you so many choices in life and leisure. If you can read you can learn anything! One of my favorite books is I'm in Charge of Celebrations by Byrd Baylor. This book reminds us that we are in charge of our outlook in life! When I'm not at school I love to spend time with my husband and children, scrapbook, tole paint, sew, read (of course), cook, and so much more!
