As the wife of an USAF Officer, never did I dream, as I entered the dual career of wife and teacher, that I would experience such diversified teaching positions as I have since our marriage in June of 1979.
Our travels have taken us from the deserts of Nevada and New Mexico to the oceans of Southern California and South Korea, with stops in Alabama and Texas.
Since the age of thirteen, my desire has been to teach. That desire has led me from public to private schools; substitute to full-time positions; summer jobs to school terms; recreational activities to academics; kindergarten to eighth; and, volunteer to employee.
My husband, a high school counselor, retired from the Air Force 14 years ago, and we moved to Las Vegas (my hometown) to raise our children, Robert, 25, and Desiree, 19, near family. We also returned so that I could pursue "my dream"- to teach in 'one place' for 20 or more years and retire as a public school teacher.
I am a UNLV graduate and this 2010-2011 School Year begins my 9th year at Brookman and 15th year with the Clark County School District. |
